Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Step One: REDUCE

{{This blog post will be separated into 3 different blogs}}
The 3 R's to help protect the environment.
Here are some ways I've thought of and have even used to help perform the 3 R's.

I had to limit the 3 R's to only 3 examples each. My list i made was way too long and I didn't want readers to get bored sifting thru all my examples. If you'd like the full list I created, drop me an email or leave a comment.

First R is Reduce:

1.)You can reduce styrofoam and plastic garbage by not purchasing these products in the first place. But of course there are beach parties and get togethers, but when you have those, try to use as little styrofoam plates and plastic utensils as possible. (Because even the packaging those products come in are plastic)

2.)Reduce oil run off when at the beach by using a more organic sunblock. Sunblock and sunscreen are great to use at the beach, but they contain too many inorganic ingredients.

(I suggest using Maui Babe browning lotion)

The Banana boat sunblock has 15 ingredients and only 5 are active ingredients

(I'll post the ingredients in a separate blog post)

Where as the Maui babe only has 9 ingredients and they are all active.

(When one wears sunblock to the beach, the lotion washes off as they swim around in the water. It won't harm much of the ocean environment if there aren't too many people using it, but when you have tourists visiting beaches everyday at the same spot all day and they're all wearing sunblock; the oil and chemicals that come from it can settle on the coral and block the polyps within the coral from gaining sunlight to grow.)

3.)Reduce plastic and paper trash by not buying instant foods. Instant foods come in small plastic/paper packets.
For example: instead of buying instant oatmeal where they come in little individual packets

Purchase in bulk so you get only one piece of trash

Not only does purchasing in bulk reduce garbage, but it helps you save money too!
